Business Support Centre - Slovenia Founded in 1995, the Business Support Centre (BSC) is the Regional Development Agency of the Gorenska Region. One of its main activities in the context of its regional development plan is to support the development and growth of start-up businesses, through the provision of business counselling, training and credit schemes. BSC employs a team of eight staff and has a particular remit to target, among others, recipients of unemployment benefit and assistance and young unemployed people without the necessary vocational education. BSC has developed a dedicated youth enterprise programme as a discrete part of its business support activities and headed up the development of the incubator centre in Jesenice. Budapest Youth Enterprise Centre - Hungary Budapest Youth Enterprise Centre, Budapest, Hungary - founded in 1996. On the same site as, and associated with, the Budapest Polytechnic Grammar and Secondary School of Economics, the Budapest Youth Enterprise Centre (BYEC) - the 'flagship' centre for Central and Eastern Europe - is the first Hungarian centre based on the Wandsworth Youth Enterprise model. BYEC offers a comprehensive programme of support to young people aged between 18 and 30 living in Budapest. BYEC's goal is to support young people in the exploration of their potential, to acquaint them with private enterprise as a possible option and to help them develop an enterprise culture. The Centre actively contributes to addressing unemployment issues among young people and creating a strong micro-enterprise sector. Cegled Youth Enterprise Centre - Hungary Founded in 2001, the Cegled Youth Enterprise Centre has four business units, accommodated within the Secondary School of Economics, Infomatics and Technology. Operating in a more rural setting, Cegled Youth Enterprise Centre has, within its catchment area, a large number of small villages with relatively high unemployment among young people. A 'satellite' model is being developed to enable a peripatetic counsellor to work effectively, using local amenities to deliver the support programmes to young people for whom access to the main centre in Cegled would prove a barrier. Jesenice Incubator Centre - Slovenia Founded in 2000, this is an incubator centre providing a total of 12 business units of 377 square metres. The Centre focuses on Information Technology and targets people of all ages from the local community. A section of the Centre is set aside specifically to accommodate and run the youth enterprise programme. Neumann Youth Enterprise Centre - Hungary Founded in 2001, the Neumann Youth Enterprise Centre in Eger is based on the model established in Budapest. The Centre is located on its own site within walking distance of the School of Economics. It has 16 business units covering 437 square metres, with a full-time manager and a counsellor and trainer from the school teaching staff. With its own dedicated counselling, training, conference and meeting facilities, the Centre provides a fully serviced modern business environment for local young entrepreneurs, graduates from the school and other young people from the local community and region. Wandsworth Youth Enterprise, the lead partner - England, UK The Wandsworth Youth Enterprise Centre (WYEC) has for the last 10 years been at the cutting edge of youth enterprise provision. During this time a comprehensive range of highly specialist services have been developed and refined specifically for young entrepreneurs. Over 2000 young people have been supported and many hundreds have set up and developed their own successful businesses with the help of WYEC.
